Happy new years, everyone. Hope you all have a great 2019.
Not a very good or well executed kill to start the year off with, but whatever. Wanted to try low damage no roll on this boss. Initially planned to do no rings/buffs, but I think I had some stamina management issues or something, so I opted for +0 instead. The damage is similar, just with quicker stamina regen. The kill I ended up getting here is okay, though it could likely be a few minutes faster if I whiffed less and maybe got more attacks that I could consistently work with.
The big jump attack is a safe opening *only* if you manage to get your hit in nearly right after he lands. Otherwise going for an attack there is gambling the attempt since various backhand attacks and whatnot will reach you while you try to get away. I'm not very good at properly gauging the distance he goes(as I'd typically end up standing where he lands and die), so for most of the kill I just used it as an opportunity to create more space. Having a good amount of space before rushing in is important, as it usually guarantees he will do one of the moves that are consistently punishable with these restrictions. If you walk in too early he will do a close range attack, and nearly all of them are unavoidable on no roll. I normally would go for a few risky punishes at the start of the fight, but by this attempt I kind of didn't care that much about being aggressive anymore and just wanted a kill, I guess.
