I called into Tim's show 'Office Hours' today, live from Glendale, California. Just some banter. Though I wasn't my best eloquent self, I asked about random current events: the impact of the documentary series 'Surviving R Kelly' and the occasional oversensitivity of comedians when faced with some backlash. I used Ricky Gervais, which I don't dislike, as an example.

I'm a big fan of Tim Heidecker, both his music and his comedy. The talent of this man can't be overstated. Though he's got a large and dedicated fanbase and he's very revered in Hollywood, I still think his work in comedy is undervalued and sometimes ordained to be niche-comedy. Among other work, "The trial of Tim Heidecker" is a satirical masterpiece. I love the subtlety with which he caricaturizes common personality flaws in his 'On Cinema'-character. (On Cinema is a longstanding comedy show, produced by 'Adult Swim', where Tim Heidecker and Gregg Turkington provide movie analysis.)

Tim occasionally launches awesome impromptu musical live-streams via social media. I also tried to convince him that he should look into the music of Roy Orbison. Not that Roy is on my daily playlist, but for some reason Tim's genuine affinity for classic (mild)rock and his manner of singing, make me think that he could be one of the few people in the world who could do a good job at creating that same distinct mysterious atmosphere that is typical of and unique to an Orbison-song.

When I heard the recording of the call, it seems like I was often interrupting. Sorry for that.I was talking over a weak internet connection, uncertain if I was audible and not realizing that I was talking over Tim at certain moments. Unfortunately I could hear hardly Doug Lussenhop's comments during the call. And if some sentences were poorly constructed, please forgive. English is not my first language. ;)
