Awesome energy at AB with Mallrat and Maggie Rogers. I discovered MR when she was the musical guest on SNL and played the songs 'Falling water' and 'Light on'. Though it has a huge audience, the SNL stage is a notoriously difficult gig to pull off, but Maggie and her band slamdunked it. She just released her second album 'Heard it in a past life', and I totally dig this fresh new sound. The songs are beautiful and insightful, and dressed up in light semi-electronic popmusic with elements of soul and funk. Maggie's vocal range is impressive and she uses it wisely. The atmosphere can quickly shift from a wild, fun and loud dancing party to very sobre beautiful intimate moments. A genuine person and artist who wears her heart on her sleeve and connects effortlessly with her audience.
