This is the original version of Another Secret Passage, originally made in DefleMask back in July 2018 under the name of "Softkey Passage." I believe the original name I gave this song might be because of its overall vibes. I also made this song and the original version of Strategic Achievement at the same time, which were uploaded to my main YouTube channel on the same day (both songs have since been reuploaded to my second channel).
The biggest change I made to this song was adding the YM2413 chip alongside the Sega PSG. The YM2413 was used in the FM Sound Expansion module for the Sega Mark III (the Master System's immediate predecessor), and was built in the later Japanese Master System units from 1987 (supposedly, both the PSG and YM2413 can't be used at the same time, despite the Japanese SMS BIOS containing a cover of Space Harrier that uses both chips simultaneously). The percussion is now done by the PSG's white noise and the YM2413 drum mode. The patches were done using a technique called "patch-swapping." By quickly changing between the built-in patches on the fly, their ASDR settings can get altered and more interesting sounds can be made. For the sake of consistency through the entire song, the song's composition was altered to the C# Minor Natural scale. I also decided to lower the song's speed and tuning respectively.

Hello folks. What I have here is a 5-minute sampler containing snippets of songs I wrote for Chords this past year.
What is Chords?
This is a homebrew Genesis/Mega Drive game thats been in development since 2023 by Pixel Pusher Games. I was brought on to this project in December 2023 to make the songs for the game, and it has been a blast to do so the past year! The game is heavily inspired by Hideo Kojimas 1988 game Snatcher, developed and published by Konami. The only thing I will say about Chords is that it has a storyline that involves a band, artificial intelligence, and a talking robot cat.
