Welcome to my channel! This is Andy from I love languages. Let's learn different languages/dialects together.

Mandarin is a group of Chinese dialects spoken across most of northern and southwestern China. It includes the Beijing dialect, which forms the basis of Standard Chinese, the official language of China. Originating in North China, Mandarin is sometimes called Northern Chinese. Many Mandarin varieties, like those in the Southwest and Lower Yangtze, are not mutually intelligible with Standard Chinese. Mandarin has one billion native speakers, making it the largest Chinese dialect group, spoken by 70% of Chinese speakers across a vast area from Yunnan to Xinjiang and Heilongjiang. Its spread is attributed to easier travel and communication in the North China Plain and its expansion to frontier areas.

Naxi is a Sino-Tibetan language, or group of languages, spoken by around 310,000 people primarily in and around Lijiang City in Yulong Naxi Autonomous County in Yunnan, China. The term "Nakhi" also refers to the ethnic group that speaks this language. However, the official ethnic designation does not always match linguistic reality, as some Naxi speakers are not registered as "Naxi," and some officially recognized "Naxi" citizens do not speak the language. Chinese scholars commonly suggest that the Naic languages belong to the Lolo-Burmese branch.

This video is created for educational, language awareness, and language preservation purposes. It aims to provide valuable insights and knowledge to viewers, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of different languages and their unique characteristics. By raising awareness about linguistic diversity, the video seeks to foster a greater respect and recognition for various languages, particularly those that are endangered or underrepresented. Additionally, it contributes to the preservation of languages by documenting and sharing linguistic knowledge, thus ensuring that these languages and their cultural heritage are not lost to future generations.
