An AU in which Zira is not evil and the same age as Nala and Simba (Giulia dans le noir's Nala / Zira video inspired me for this part - youtube.com/watch?v=SZZMeEI3uy8)
Simba, Zira and Nala were three friends growing up together until canon events happen and Scar took over the Pridelands. He wasn't a bad king but Nala and Zira felt gloomy, they missed Simba and Mufasa.
So when they heard birds chatter about seeing a young lion that looked like Simba somewhere in the jungles, both lionesses decided to look for him.
The jungles are enormous so Nala and Zira split. Zira found Simba and they fell in love. Nala found a road to the Tree of Life and went there with a group of lionesses, she found Zira and Simba before leaving, was so happy that Simba is alive and said she needed to have her own journey and see other places.
Simba was glad that the Pridelands are fine, he missed it, but coming back would be too hurtful for him, facing the past and Mufasa's death, remembering it all again. The jungle became his new home and he wanted to stay.
Zira said she couldn't stay, she and Nala have always been good hunters and she is needed at the Pridelands. Simba asked her to stay at least for a few days, Zira agreed. She felt down because Nala left and Simba doesn't want to come back, so Zira would be away from him again.
Simba felt guilty and he was also worrying, he wanted to make a proposal and finally did it, Zira was so suprized and said yes. They shared beautiful moments of spring in the jungle and Zira is not sure now if she should return to the Pridelands.
