I know this song not so long, and I decided to make some animash with it. I've heard two great covers of the song, it was really hard to choose, but I chose the original, somehow turned out I liked it the most.
All stories happen in AUs, character A (Zira, Kovu, Todd, Faline) are singing about character B (Mufasa, Kiara, Bambi, Nala) their dream hero, someone who turned out to really save them from danger.
Zira here is a trainer of cubs in the Pridelands, she's been in love with Mufasa for a long time, amazed by his bravery, she's seen how Mufasa was saving cubs from danger. Mufasa is talking kindly to her, and Zira starts to believe she has a chance
Kiara in this AU saved Kovu from being exiled and stopped the war between the Outlands and the Pridelands like in canon (in this AU there's no Zira)
Todd was being chased by dogs and when he thought it was the end a young deer jumped in front of him and started fighting with the dogs, so Todd could run away.
He was worried that the deer died, came looking for him, and saw the deer standing on a cliff. Then Todd thought it was love from the first sight. He started talking with the deer, asking for his name. Todd was scared the deer wouldn't like him, but the deer smiled and said his name was Bambi and he's glad Todd is alright. And Todd smiled back at Bambi.
Nala saved Faline from an aggressive deer, who was trying to force Faline to stay with him. Nala won and she with Faline ran away together. Soon Nala became Faline's dream, someone who could always support her and about whom Faline thinks with a smile
