David Calabrese from Statesville, North Carolina gives us a close look at his 2022 Peterbilt 389 known as Silver Dollar. This truck may look like a showpiece, but it’s a real working heavy haul truck that runs every week, pulling specialized RGN freight and working in and out of job sites across the country.
David talks about the Quicksilver Peterbilt factory paint, the bus glass conversion, custom visor, Lincoln Chrome bumper, stretched and double-framed chassis, pusher axle, Performance 40 rears, custom King Shocks, 48-inch standup sleeper conversion, Florida’s Finest interior, 5,000-watt stereo system, and the seven-foot fifth wheel slide he built himself.
With around half a million miles, this Peterbilt 389 proves that a truck can be clean enough for the show field and still built to work. David also shares the story of buying the truck new, how much it has changed over the years, and how trucking runs in the family as a third-generation driver.
