20 Years ago today, Silent Hill was released to the USA by Konami and revolutionized survival horror as we know it. They not only changed survival horror but pretty much defined psychological horror in the process and paved the way for many games today. Two decades later I take a look back and see just how Konami and Team Silent went about mastering just how much they can make us feel uncomfortable, because in psychological horror, discomfort is the name of the game.
