In this unexpected glitch in Silent Hill Homecoming, the camera glitches itself into a static position at the first gate in the Sewer level. More info below.
On November 30th of 2013 I was just messing around with Homecoming when this completely unexpected glitch occurred. At the time the place I was staying at didn't have my capture equipment on hand, so all I could do was start recording the actual tv screen with my iphone. I knew this may have been something that would be hard to replicate, and to this day I haven't actually been able to get this glitch to occur again.
However I think what caused it was this (I remember this happening): while Alex is holding the valve open so Elle can duck under, for whatever reason the valve/gate closed a little sooner than it should have (or maybe Elle wasn't as fast as she is programmed to be) and while Elle was in mid-duck the gate slammed down on her. For a brief moment she kinda spazzed out but then continued on to the other side. After the brief "I can't get it open go back the way you came" cutscene, the camera stayed fixed on the angle when Alex is holding the valve open. I couldn't say for certain this is what caused the camera glitch...but this is the only time I've ever seen either of these things occur so most likely the gate crashing on Elle and the camera glitching out are linked.
I've tried to replicate it, thinking that maybe getting Elle stuck on something so she reaches the gate too late would work, but no luck.
Alex can run off screen and navigate the level like normal...you just can't see what you are doing. At the end of the video I get killed by a needler because I had no idea how to escape it. I couldn't see it.
