Only experiment with the higher voltage when you know what you are doing, high voltage can be deadly and/or damage equipment !!!
In the circuit you see 100V for the source, which is my goal, but it can damage the signal generator if something goes wrong. I hope to find a way to use opto coupler but at 1Mhz is a problem for me at this point in time.
My first project for 2026 will be voltage amplifier for the pulses comming out of my signal generator.
We know there are two factors that determine the power in one wire of which one is voltage.
My goal is to be able and get decent pulse with 100V peak value at frequency of 1Mhz.
Calculations made from pulse power standpoint would mean that 180pF capacitor at 110V equals 0.98W and at 350V, 10W
There are however two formulas one for pulse and one for sine wave (which will be inside that tank circuit if I'm correct) but I'm first going to start with the pulse calculation.
According to the calculations for the 69µF total capacitance in the 3 phase system from Don, the capacitor would need to be charged to 3000V at 120hz.
Which of course is much higher that what they are rated for.
What could be the case is that the inverter used is not pure sine wave and creates a much higher frequency. To fall within specs it would then be 3.5Mhz with voltage level of 500V.
The question is: how much does the Q factor of the tank circuit play a roll in the results for the amplification?
I have no experimental results at this point in time to see how close calculations are to reality.
It shows you only why I want to build a circuit like that to have some real life measurements.
As you can see in next video, resonance is absolutely necessary to not deform the pulses on one wire bus, so the switching needs to be correct and precise.
