When I heard the news that Capcom, my favorite gaming company, wasn't bringing the next game in one of my TOP THREE favorite gaming series, Ace Attorney (Phoenix Wright), to North America and translating it to English for sale... I got another crack in my already chisled heart. A sequel to this series isn't like a sequel in a game like Mario or Zelda. It's part of the game's storyline, and this series is very, very heavily story-based and character-based. It's like missing out on a chapter of a book you've been reading up to this point, only in this case, it would be like missing out on a whole book in a series!
Capcom's reasoning is because of money. Apparently they're a little bit spooked by their latest US release of Okamiden because it didn't sell very well in the US (but guess what? The only way they advertised the game was via Facebook!!), so now they're getting a bit wary of how they do things. In fact, there's rumors they aren't going to localize "Layton vs. Wright" for the 3DS when it's released!! They've even cancelled a couple Mega Man releases, and they have their fans wondering if Mega Man legends 3 will be released at this point (but that's another story)!
That's why I'm calling out to YOU, MY FANS, to sign THIS PETITION petitiononline.com/AAI2US/petition.html
to get a lot of signatures TO SHOW CAPCOM that ACE ATTORNEY HAS ENOUGH FANBASE IN THE US AND IN ENGLISH SPEAKING COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD to localize Gyakuten Kenji 2, otherwise known as Ace Attorney Investigations 2!
Even if you haven't played the series, it doesn't take even a minute to add your name (or any name for that matter) to the list of signatures. You have to enter an email address, but it's not shown to anyone, unless you state you want it shown to the author of the petition (otherwise it won't be shown period because of the amount of signatures aquired, stated by PetitionOnline).
Your fellow gamers will appreciate it, and I sure will too!
Once you've signed it, you can post the Petition link elsewhere to get the word about. I've been tweeting it a lot with hashtags, and in doing so I've gotten a handful of people to retweet and my tweet was featured in a web-zine!
I'm going to do a bit of fanart and post it on my dA thepurplewind.deviantart.com along with the petition link to see if I can't stir up a few more signatures, because some fans still aren't aware they said they weren't going to localize it.
The devloper said that they weren't going to, but it's rumored that even he has retweeted the petition link himself (I don't know his account, otherwise I'd post it here). However, Christian Svensson, Capcom's Senior VP, stated himself that they weren't going to...

This has really, really damaged my view and relationship with Capcom. Capcom, to me, could do no wrong. I have NEVER played a BAD GAME that Capcom made. They're all great. But with all these really weird moves and decisions, and Keiji Inafune leaving... maybe that was a sign.
