Shocking Christian News: Joni Lamb, Co-Founder of Daystar, Dies Suddenly at 65 Years Old. Joni Lamb founded the Christian TV network with her husband Marcus Lamb. Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson reported that Tom Calendar, a Daystar executive, called Jonathan Lamb to inform him that his mother, Joni Lamb, has passed away. I am deeply saddened to hear this news. Many believed this day might come, but it is still heartbreaking. I first started covering Daystar years ago when I looked into Joni Lamb’s marriage to Doug Weiss. It was the most clear-cut case of adultery I had ever seen from a prime-time ministry leader. Discovering the trail of sin, deception, and lies connected to Joni Lamb and Daystar TV was one of the biggest shocks of my life. I’m still processing that shock to this day. This is a really sad ending to the story of Joni Lamb. It didn’t have to end this way. She was only 65 years old. There are some important lessons to be learned from this story. We will unpack them in the days ahead, but now is not the time. Please keep Jonathan, Suzy, Rachel, and Rebecca Lamb in your prayers. No one expected that Joni Lamb would die this suddenly. She had been absent from Daystar TV due to what they said was back issues. The new media is reporting her cause of death as Bone cancer.
