Published in 2000, just three years before his death, Hagin addressed what he saw as growing confusion and extremes within the movement he helped influence. Instead of promoting a “name it and claim it” message, Hagin warned believers about the love of money, chasing wealth, measuring spirituality by financial success, and making prosperity the center of Christianity. The modern Word of Faith movement has faced increasing controversy over prosperity preaching, scandals, and accusations of placing money and success above the message of Jesus Christ.
