Rogbo Bazan is an older gentleman these days. A Dyplotid from the coastal galleries of Vaynai, he came of age in the quiet decades before the Empire, performing in lounge halls across the Mid and Outer Rim. His voice — low, whispery, warm as dusk — earned him the nickname “The Velvet Voice of Vaynai,” first coined by a local columnist and never quite shaken since.
Now, Rogbo leads a more peaceful life. He and his husband divide their time between Vaynai and a summer home on Chandrila, where he’s often seen in tailored Ghorman twill coats, strolling open-air markets with unassuming grace. Though modest, he remains quietly revered by those who remember his prime.
His track “Shining Bright” came later in his career, during a time when the galaxy felt increasingly uncertain. As always, Rogbo doesn’t need volume to convey feeling — the verses are nearly whispered, carried by that familiar murky tone. The song speaks of holding on to one’s inner light in the face of Empire, crime, and isolation. It doesn’t shy from darkness, but it never lets darkness win.
The message is simple: even when night falls, the light within us still endures.
