The Jalpikan Three were once a force to be reckoned with, a trio of fire-blooded Lannik rockers whose roaring riffs and pounding rhythms made them infamous from the Core to the Outer Rim. At their height, they were unstoppable - their biggest hit “Shot First” becoming a cantina staple.
But the glory days didn’t last. Two of the three spiraled into drink, debauchery, and half-hearted performances, squandering their talents and dragging the band’s name through the mud. Whispers that they aided their old friend Hondo Ohnaka in siphoning credits from a Sector-sponsored music festival only deepened the stain. The charges were never proven, but the scandal stuck. Only one member clawed his way free, carving out a modest solo career, while the other two faded into obscurity, living off the scraps of their former glory.
“Trusty Hondo Ohnaka” became their final release — an ode to their pirate companion and, ironically, a song forever linked to the very accusations that destroyed them. A rollicking hard rock anthem as duplicitous and grinning as the Weequay himself, it endures as both a celebration and a cautionary tale.
