First of all, to take this boss down quicker you'll need Divine Confetti, which significantly increases damage dealt to Apparition type enemies and disperses their projectiles when hitting them, Pacifying Agent can also be useful if your terror meter gets worryingly big.

I made several attempts to get this vid and the final result isnt particularly interesting as a demonstration of ways to avoid his attacks tbh. Anyway, some of them, like his horizontal spear attacks, can be avoided by ducking under them (curl up gesture, e.g.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qvq66QsZNQk), and some he usually wont repeat right after using them the first time (specifically his karate kick).
His second phase is pretty hard to predict, with a ground stomp that will kill you if youre too close, or stagger you if you get slightly away from him. Its best to keep relatively close to him during that phase, due to his charge attack being a guaranteed death if you run away from it in a straight line instead of circling towards him counter-clockwise. There are also his shoulder attacks, easily avoided by going to his left. The moment after his karate kick gives a good opportunity for counter-attack in phase 1, but in phase 2 his next attacks can come out quicker than you can recover, so it might be risky to get a hit in. This one was kinda interesting, as I didnt have any prior experience of fighting the sage without rolling. He has a tendency to not run away after getting hit in the first phase if he summons soulmass beforehand, so thats a good opportunity to deal a lot of damage to him. He also usually teleports to a place somewhere on the other side of the area in both phases, so ones best guess is to usually look for him there.
The second phase is kind of a gamble whether youll survive or not, as any of the clones can launch one of several ranged attacks right off the bat, being close to real sage and being separated from at least some of the clones by a piece of wall is super helpful. On a sidenote, Im not 100% sure what happened in 0:53 but it looked like one of the clones accidentally sniped Sages homing spell. It probably cant be consistently applied in any strategy against him, but I still found that kinda interesting :)
Not sure where to go from here, I gave Abyss Watchers a few tries but they give me trouble even in their first phase, do itll probably be either them or Deacons.")
