i'm awake for whatever reason at 5 am so i'm publishing this now yolo

so before i talk about my otp of all otps, lemme just say this is my favorite song ever and while it fits a lot of my ships i feel like this fits soulsilvershipping the most out of all of them. this video tells a story, from his pov, about his feelings for lyra and how he feels that he will just bring her down, no matter how she feels - hence the 'she lives in a daydream' part of this.

anyways, soulsilvershipping...where to start? hgss is what got me back into pokemon, all those years ago. for awhile i just kind of enjoyed it from the sidelines, where i wasn't really into the anime at the time and i had taken a break from the manga, and had other games/fandoms i was getting into deeply. i bought soulsilver on a whim as a birthday present for myself (silver was my favorite game, prior to hgss) and...welp. the rest is history?
silver is a character i connect with deeply - i completely understand why he is the way he is. and lyra quickly became my favorite protag (and still is!). seeing how she changed him, so much, throughout the course of the game - not who he is, but how he thinks - is what gets me about these two. i love how much they can learn from each other, make each other think differently, and live outside their comfort zones. i love how even though they might've come from different places, they are still similar in a lot of ways and different in others. silver comes from a broken family that he maybe once believed was okay (personally i believe that until the kanto protag got involved his family situation was..much more tolerable?), lyra comes from a loving home that's been missing someone for a long time.. but sticking to canon here, lmao, despite how rude he is to lyra, she never stops. she always greets him, never says no to a battle..she truly ends up wanting to be there for him, wanting to be his friend, and she's the first person he lets in. lets change him. i really, really love them. i could honestly go on about them for hours but i doubt anybody wants that lmao.


anyways, i know not a lot of people think about this ship anymore, but please give it some thought every now and again :') it's my otp of all otps, and it really means a whole lot to me. i really love it to pieces, and i'm so glad i was able to edit my favorite song with my favorite ship. sorry for how long and rambly this is whoops!
