PyroMan (who's found in Eien Area 1, as is his ghost) is a really hectic fight, much like NapalmMan. He has two turrets that appear that shoot flames three panels ahead of them, he can do something like what HeatMan does in BN6 where he shoots a fire wave across the screen that you need to dodge between intervals, he can also summon three waves of fire pillars in three panels on your area like HeatMan does in BN2, and he also has a fire shot that shoots down the row ahead of him and stops and exploded on the column you're on, leaving a fire ring in its place. The turrets can also only be destroyed by breaking attacks (whichever those are, I have't bothered to check, but Master Spark does away with them well enough). The V3 fight also starts with six Burner panels that shoot fire if you stand on them and cause three seconds of the "melt" status ailment which halves the damage you do (though abilities like what WingStyle has bypasses that, causing them to not to trigger). Because of those panels (and that a tornado charge shot is too good when you can charge while using chips), I opted to use WingStyle for the entire fight this time. PyroMan's a really fun fight, like all the bosses in this game. At least so far. We'll see if there's a BubbleMan or a CloudMan boss in the future.
And so we reach the last boss of the v0.31 demo. I am very impressed by this fangame, as it combines elements from all across the Battle Network and Star Force games, such as the two versions of ADD, style selecting in the same vein as crosses and illegal data, and it tops it all off with a Touhou flavor. It even has its own mechanics such as how DocStyle maxes the custom window out at 12 rather than 10 and allows you to load in up to 6 chips instead of just 5 and how enemies hit by navi or other timestopping attacks do not flinch if they're paralyzed. This is clearly made by somone who loves Battle Network, and I'm very appreciative of the fact that he (or she) is making this game.
I decided to show off the folder and Add-On setup I used for most of it since this is the last video of it Shanghai.EXE that I'll be making for a while. I mean, I COULD do the SP and SP5 fights, but I won't bother doing those now as they're just the same as the V3 fights but faster, with more health and more damage dealt. Maybe at a later date.
(As an aside, after playing both this and Battle Network 6 Gregar in japanese, it's really weird to go back to playing these games in english. As another aside, I miss my Shanghai.EXE folder when playing the other games. So many good chips... ;-;)
