These guys look familiar.
So this is Battle Network: Chrono X, probably the most well-known Battle Network fangame on the internet. It's being made by Battle Network fans for Battle Network fans, so one major thing about it is it's relatively more difficult. As evidenced by GutsMan of all people. He seems to be rocking his BN4 moveset, though his buster goes 4 panels instead of 3, and he likes to break panels a lot more often, which can be a pain as he's the first boss we have and we don't have any access to AirShoes. Or I just suck.
I think the engine's been made from the ground up, so it's not using the same one that Shanghai uses, which is neither good nor bad, but different, so keep that in mind if you want to play both, as there are some nuances that come with both (like how Airshot takes longer to come out than Cannon for some reason, there aren't real-time area steals and you actually understand what's going on because the game's in English).
My biggest gripe is the soundfont used, as it sounds very different than the official Battle Networks and even Shanghai, but even if it's my biggest gripe, it's still minor in the grand scheme of things.
I'm not sure how much of Chrono X I'll do before the full game comes out, maybe just the first scenario, maybe the full demo, who knows? I don't even know.
