Detailed SketchUp file for sale! See below!
The second video in a series about building a simple Shaker style night stand (end/side table) with all hand tools.
In this video, I continue work on the Shaker Night Stand. Having rough-cut the lumber to length, I resaw the 2x4s, plane and thickness them, and finally glue them up to give me the basic components needed for the top and carcass.
Then I square up the stock for the legs, trace the template, and plane, plane, plane.
In the end, we are left with a nice stack of squared, planed, wood panels and tapered legs that are ready for final dimensioning, which I will do in the next video.
Thanks so much for accompanying me on this build series!
Next parts in the series:
Part 3: Final Dimensioning
Part 4: Mortising the Sides
Part 5: Shaping the Top
Part 6: Carcass Glue-up
Part 7: Making the Drawer
Part 8: Painting, Reveal, Conclusion
