One of my goals for 2026 is to ride 2,000 miles on my bike. Another is to do some of that riding while bikepacking or bikecamping, that is, riding unsupported with all I need carried on my Velotric Breeze 1 e-bike. Before simply jumping into bikepacking, however, I decided that since I haven’t camped solo for 27 years, I need some practice. So I’m planning on several camping outings where I bring my bike and pack everything in my bike bags as though I were bikecamping.
This video is of my first outing on this mission. I drove my car to Twin Lakes State Park (Virginia) which is close to the High Bridge Rail Trail that runs through Farmville, VA. First part is about setting up camp but then I take you along on my five mile ride on country roads to reach an access point to the trail. From there it’s about 13 miles over the High Bridge and into Farmville. I have lunch then return to camp making it an about 40 mile ride
