I'm really excited about this series - I've enjoyed working on it *so much* so far and I hope you guys will enjoy it too.
But I'm really nervous about the future of this channel and creating a Patreon. I hope you guys know this is a last resort for me - if I could make enough from ad revenue and sponsorships to cover the material costs and justify the hours that go into filming and editing videos, I would NEVER ask for additional funding.
But unfortunately that isn't the case.
I'm also aware that I'm not exactly struggling for money, I've been very lucky in that way. But that doesn't mean that my time isn't valuable, or that I can justify spending so much of it on something that loses money.
I wish I didn't have to talk about this, and I wish it wasn't a factor in making videos...but it is :(
Regardless of what happens, I will be posting monthly Sewing through the Decades videos which will be avalible publicly.
If this goes well I can speed up that timeline and extend/expand this project in the future. If it doesn't, then I will probably have to go back to my upload schedule of not uploading very often at all.
ALSO I really hope it goes without saying, but take care of yourself first and your financial situation!! I know not everyone is in a position to pledge and that is completely fine! You being okay matters to me way more than a pledge. So please don't feel pressured to contribute if you can't or if it would negatively impact you in any way.
