After nearly 30 years and 15 studio albums, Sevendust return with One, but the real question isn’t whether they can still make a solid record… it’s whether they can still surprise us.
In this review, I break down One track by track, looking at what works, what doesn’t, and where it stands alongside recent albums like Truth Killer and Blood & Stone. From the crushing heaviness of “Blood Price” to the industrial edge of “We Won,” there’s a lot to like here, especially with Lajon Witherspoon delivering one of the strongest vocal performances in modern metal.
But it’s not perfect.
We’ll also talk about the production choices, the use of electronic elements, and whether the album plays things a little too safe at times. Is One another strong entry in Sevendust’s catalog… or a missed opportunity to push further?
