Sesame Pork & Green Beans
Cooking with ingredients you have on hand....
You can make this dish with pork, chicken or beef
(Cooked in a 12" cast iron skillet, serves 4)
Ingredients:
1 lb. pork loin chops cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/3 cup sesame seeds
2 eggs, lightly beaten
Vegetable oil
1 large carrot, thinly sliced or coarsely chopped
1/3 cup honey
3 Tbsp. cider vinegar
1 14-1/2 oz. can cut green beans, drained
Pepper, 1 tsp.
Salt, 1/4 tsp.
1 Tbsp. water
Hot cooked rice (optional)
Directions:
1. Cut pork into 1 1/2- inch pieces. In a shallow dish combine flour, sesame seeds, 1 tsp. pepper, and 1/4 tsp. salt.
Place beaten eggs in another shallow dish. Dip pork into flour mixture, then into eggs, then into flour mixture
again to coat. Set aside.
2. In a 12 " skillet heat about 1/2 inch of oil over medium-high heat. Add coated pork pieces in batches;
cook each batch about 4 minutes or until cooked through. Using a slotted spoon, transfer cooked pork to
paper towels; drain. Wipe out skillet.
3. Combine carrot, honey,vinegar and 1 Tbsp. water and add to skillet. Bring to boiling. Stir in green beans.
Add pork; stir mixture to coat all ingredients. Serve over cooked rice, if desired.
