A small 2 part campaign made for the Castlemania 2024 event on Serious Site, now available on the steam workshop! I got to playtest this one a bit so I couldn't really do a blind playthrough and decided instead to just go for an 100% playthrough since I knew where all the stuff was already.
Visually both levels are fairly nice to look at, though my graphics settings for some reason make the 2nd level's finale look horrible.
Gameplay wise there are quite a few random abyss triggers that can instakill you as well as odd/sloppy invisible wall placement. Luckily this doesn't interfere too much with combat, though the combat on its own isn't much to write home about.
At best the combat is okay, and at its worst the combat is boring and/or tedious. Weapon & ammo balancing usually doesn't make any sense as you'll often be overequipped for fights that aren't challenging to begin with and will seemingly always come across weapons that would have fit the combat better only after the fight is finished.
Don't get me wrong, the combat isn't horrible, it's just incredibly bland. As someone who was asked to playtest the map and repeatedly brought this up as a main concern, it's a bit upsetting to see that nothing has changed in the final release version to make fights more engaging and memorable.
Thanks again for watching and as always, stay Serious!
