Episode 5: I got the idea for this episode while on a visit to a friend of Marie's. I apologize for the poor quality of the footage early on. At first I was mostly just playing with the camera and hadn't intended to actually use the footage here; once I realized the importance of the story Marie's friend was telling, though, I realized I had a show on my hands and started doing more serious shooting.
Anyway, this is quite a story. If any of you have relatives or friends living in seniors complexes you might want to take a look around and see if maybe there are a few issues with their apartments you may not have noticed...

Episode 60: The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) is a union of low and moderate income families, young workers, cultural workers, assistance recipients and the rest of the 99% fighting for a better [community]. The Cape Breton chapter of ACORNs most important goal right now is to fight for renters rights.
As a renter myself, and having seen the deplorable condition of some of the apartments in my local area, I felt this was a cause worth supporting. ACORN is here to help us fight to improve our living conditions, but theyre is only as strong as the size of its membership. Its vital they get the word out there; the more people who join ACORN, the greater their power to affect change.
With this episode, Im doing my part to get the word out.
