The Orville just completed it's first season.
I'm a huge fan of this show. It's the first show I've seen in the last 10 years that truly captures that wonderful feeling of Star Trek, that optimistic view of the future so sorely lacking in most of today's mainstream science fiction. I've wanted to do a tribute to celebrate its first completed season but I wasn't sure what to do...
I mix my own music, mostly from multitracks downloaded from Mixing Secrets Multitracks at Cambridge Music Technology, but I get some from other places.
There was this one song, part of a mixing contest currently being held by Waves Audio, that I did recently; it's called "Apologize," written by Terry Hicks and Joe West, performed by Travis Thibodeaux.
When I heard this song, the lyrics, with the possile excpetion of the stuff about the cross, all I could think about was Kelly and how many times she's said to Ed how sorry she was for how she hurt him, cheating on him with Darulio .
That's when I realized what I needed to do: a tribute to Ed and Kelly.
I don't know if they'll ever be together again, and honestly I don't know whether to hope for it to happen or not, but after listening to Kelly over this season it's pretty clear, no matter what happens between them from this point on, that what she did to Ed will be a cross she'll always have to bear.
I guess THAT is the cross this video is really about.
Call this work a big thank you to Seth McFarlane, and his cast and crew, for finally bringing back that old Star Trek feeling for me and so many others.

Episode 14: So, you think Im complaining too much about the condition of the roads around here? Take a look at this and see for yourself...
Small but significant update on Madeline. Marie called and Madellines sister picked up, said, No, [Madeline]s not [available], and immediately hung up. This is not surprising to us; Madelines sister has behaved like that before. Problem is, while obviously we now know Madelines phone is still connected we still have no idea whats happened to Madeline herself.
So, once again, if anyone out there knows Madeline or her family please let her know were looking for her; shell certainly recognize our names and Im sure shell want to get in touch with us. Please email me if you can help; thanks. Ravaged Roads](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/rbLIdKPMFYY/mqdefault.jpg)
