Yes, it's true - there are a lot of pirated books on Amazon.com. The copyright infringement form can be found here: amazon.com/report/infringement
The form asks if you bought the stolen work to make sure it's a pirated work, and I did that the first time. But since then I just say I didn't buy it, because you can tell that it's stolen content by using their search inside the book feature.
And they do take the stolen books off their site within a few days of receiving the form. Unfortunately, the bad guys will just put it back on Amazon in a week or two, so you have to keep checking, and filling out the form.
