Chris examines examples of high standard tailoring by the late Leonard Stanley who was during his career the leading military tailor for the elite regiments of the British Army. Much of the detailed lacing patterns of the time were known only to him. Working from Saville Row, he made uniforms for elite regiments and personages, his old job cards revealing that his clients included even the Prince of Wales.
From part examples, work pieces and uncompleted garments, Chris is able to reveal to you and appreciate the techniques of the construction of the uniforms and the quality of the materials from which they are constructed.
