Welcome to this week’s Dungeon Synth Sunday – the time of the week where I post music from black metal’s adjacent lands of dark ambience, esoteric electronica, wyrd folk and occasionally sounds from even further afield.
For my first of this weeks’ three albums today, it is my pleasure to present that latest release in Sokol Keep’s Spellshock series of cassette releases; a sub-set of label releases which arrive without warning in a strictly limited number, showcasing new blades, arcane legends and forgotten heroes of dungeon lore.
Fourth in the SOKOL SPELLSHOCK series is the far-flung fantasy synth of Secluded Tower. Five quietly triumphant and pensive pieces of silvery antiquity and dread ambience, this debut release from the Rocky Mountains of the US channels the grand vistas of its homelands into a richly evocative world of the artist’s own making.
First self-released by Secluded Tower in February this year, this Sokol Keep edition features a newly hand-drawn logo, new cover artwork and j-card layouts featuring the original artwork and the artist’s hand-drawn map of these fantasy lands. Tapes sold out instantly, but digital copies remain available from both Sokol Keep and Secluded Tower.
