Today I bring you Midwinter Sunset – the latest project from Damián ‘Sadness / Trhä etc.’ Ojeda, so you already know the level of fiendish melodicism and immersive noisescaping you will be dealing with once you press play.

Arriving by dropping two 25-minute EPs in close proximity, Midwinter Sunset offers up a chewy, dark and heavier side to Damián’s sounds, with the guitars really chomping into some dense riffing, opening with bassy, smoke-damaged gear-shifter from a space somewhere between Electric Wizard, Darkthrone and Black Sabbath, after which the beast unleashes for the duration.
