This sea turtle has come such a long way! “Tyche” was found cold-stunned on the beach this past winter, suffering from a chronic facial fracture of unknown origin. Tyche had significant damage to their face when they arrived, but is now nearly unrecognizable (in the best way).
After months of expert care at our Sea Turtle Hospital, healing, and a whole lot of TLC, Tyche is looking so much better and is almost ready to return to the ocean!
The name “Tyche” was given to this turtle as part of our Greek mythology naming theme this year. In Greek mythology, Tyche is the goddess of fortune, luck, and chance—making it the perfect name for a turtle who’s been given a second chance at life!
