Another month has come + gone, which means it’s time for another About Last Month layout. I am playing along with About Last Month, a summative form of memory keeping developed by Layle Koncar. This layout is my April entry; it was also created for Scrapbook Nerd (since I was up to bat earlier this week.)
This is a single page 6x8 hybrid layout, created using Simple Stories Wildflower and my Cricut. My Cricut was used primarily for the journaling, which is formatted in numerical point form. This style of journaling is perfect for utilizing die cut numbers and alphas in your stash. I chose to use some of the numerical die cuts for the bullet points in my layout. It felt great finding a way to use them in a way that makes sense for my style of documenting! (I usually either a: hang on to them for an absurdly long time before donating them, or b: hanging on to them for an absurdly long time before tossing them in the recycling). Anyone else?
The patterned papers in this layout is an eclectic mix of old + new, with the base layer coming from the Wildflower 6x8 paper pad. The cardstock mat has a stitched border around it that was drawn with my Cricut when the rectangle shape was cut. Theres an embellishment cluster in the top right that consists of die cuts + a chipboard sticker from Wildflower. There’s an itty bitty cluster on the number 3, and then, of course, are my bullet points and journaling.
Each bullet point has a heading that was drawn with a different colour pen. Taking my cue from English class way long ago, I used it as a way to summarize each paragraph. I also think it adds visual interest to the layout. Imma do it again, I think. Lastly, the cardstock is from CTMH (RIP), and is like an off- white colour. (I want to call it Colonial White, but I’m not certain that’s the correct name). Since CTMH is no longer with us, I can’t link their products anymore. Therefore, I’ll link a similar cardstock below, along with the other supplies I used in this layout.
