In this video, I will create another layout that’s purely for the joy creating brings me. It is also a great way to celebrate the winter equinox, which is a good excuse to add another page in my December Daily album!
I made a spinner card layout, y’all! It measures 7x8.25 inches, and will go in my album without a page protector. While I was designing this layout in Cricut DS, I welded the layout base to a thin rectangle shape, giving me space to punch holes without sacrificing the integrity of the layout base. I created my own pattern by converting a repeated cut image (dots) to draw, grouping the pattern together, then attaching it all to the base so it would draw + cut simultaneously. I duplicated the layout base so that it’s the same front to back.
From the centre of the layout base, a circle measuring 6 inches around was cut out to allow space for the spinner- which is a basic scallop circle that’s decorated with a layered snowflake, multi-layer holly image and the title. I cut each of these items twice, adhered them together, then adhered them back to back with the floss lying between the layers. (Think of an Oreo cookie. It’s adhered together sandwich style). The ends of the floss is then glued to the layout base at the top and bottom before adhering the top layer of the “sandwich”. (I often overthink my explanations, so if I’ve confused you, it’s me, not you lol. It’ll make more sense when you’ve watched today’s video. It’s much simpler than I’ve made it sound.
