This is "Scramble Spirits" for the Amstrad CPC released back in 1990 by Grandslam and developed by Teque(Fred O'Rourke{code}, Mark Edwards{graphics} and Matt Furniss{music}).
It is a very poor conversion of the arcade coin-op game by Sega.
The CPC version is a re-colored Spectrum port but the extra few colors don't help very much.
There are two cute little tunes in the title and the menu screen but no in-game music.
It seems that the programmers used a kind of sampled sound for the explosions as while an explosion is heard no other sound effect can be produced.
Although its problems the game is quite playable with good controls and smooth action despite some slow-downs when many sprites are on the screen.
It is also very easy to beat it as it gives 5 credits with 5 lives each and it continues from the same point you lost a life.
