The University of Kentucky Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment celebrated the grand reopening of historic Scovell Hall following a comprehensive renovation of the more than 120-year-old campus landmark.
University leaders, faculty, staff, students, alumni and supporters gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the building’s next chapter. Originally constructed in 1903 as the home of the Kentucky Agricultural Experiment Station, Scovell Hall now serves as the college’s administrative home and brings together leadership, academic programs, UK Cooperative Extension Service and student success resources. The renovated facility includes modern classrooms, collaborative student spaces, the Lemon Tree Café and Teaching Kitchen and programs focused on nutrition, families, hospitality and community well-being. The project preserves Scovell Hall’s historic character while creating a modern space to support teaching, research, engagement and service across Kentucky. MGCafe News
