Sci Fi Channel Cartoon Quest was the SciFi Channel's answer to weekday and Saturday morning cartoons on channels like the WB or FOX. Still, it wasn't really able to surpass the first run animation that was debuting on those channels every season. What SciFi did was show reruns of old scifi themed cartoons and shows from the seventies and eighties. Shows like Galaxy High School, Transformers G1 and many of the Gerry Anderson shows. The channel would try this experiment later and rename it SciFi Channel Animation Station which would also fail by 1997. They tried again with a cartoon block for their 1999-2000 season which was sponsored by Bohbot Kids Network and Sony and that failed too finally keeping the channel from bringing kids shows to the network as part of its lineup. There was to be a SYFYKids channel at the beginning of the 2011 but that so far has not materialized.
