UCSF Scientists have found a way to create cancer killing CAR-T cells inside the body.
This eliminates the costly, time-consuming manufacturing process that has kept these therapies out of reach of cancer patients around the world.
In a Nature paper published March 18, 2026, Justin Eyquem, William Nyberg, and Pierre-Louis Bernard show how these cells work against leukemia, multiple myeloma and sarcoma in mice.
The work is a collaboration between UCSF, the Innovative Genomics Institute at UC Berkeley, and Duke University. The platform is being commercialized by Azalea Therapeutics. For more information visit the links below:
