In this talk, I aim to provide a brief overview of the science objectives of the TianQin observatory, covering all categories of sources (massive black hole binaries, EMRIs, stellar-mass black hole binaries, Galactic compact binaries, stochastic gravitational wave background, etc.). I will report the research progress of these sources, and how the implementation of TianQin will deepen our understanding of underlying astrophysics, cosmology, and fundamental physics. I will also mention the progress of the data analysis study on these sources.
