The Macaw Mountain research team checked whether the Scarlet Macaw nest box was occupied and had eggs at Hacienda San Lucas. No, it wasn't occupied and there were no eggs. 15 minutes after they left, six Scarlet Macaws flew into the gardens. 20 minutes later, a pair checked out the box. As darkness set in, one macaw was inside the box with its head sticking out. Next morning, a Scarlet Macaw looked out the box while the other watched from nearby. 19-20 February 2020 at Hacienda San Lucas, Copan, Honduras. We hope they breed successfully.
