Boxe Française (today often called Savate) has different schools. One of the most famous was the salle of Joseph Charlemont and later on his son Charles Charlemont. They uses very powerfull strikes which are loaded through an movement which is telegraphic but it is a natural and efficient movement because it wits in combinations and blocks or parries.
On the other hand Charles Lecour, Julien Leclerc and Emile Andre avoid this because of its dangers to be countered and the extra time it take.
We are training old school savate withing HEMA as an historical martial art.
