Bartitsu and Defense dans la rue were two movements of personal self-defense around 1900 in the belle epoche aka the Edwardian ear. After the First World War things were different so were Self-defence in the street. The book by Ignacy Harski 'sztuka bronienia sei' from Poland in the 1920s is heavily influenced by Emile Andre and his 100 ways to defend yourself in the street without weapons but has a different approach on the cane and dagger as well as the revolver.
