On May 10th, 2021, Samuel Martinez flew to the Hawaiian island of Kauai. His solo trip was to consist of camping and hiking various trails. When he failed to return to Lincoln, Nebraska on May 25th, his family reported him as missing. On May 27th, the Lincoln Police Department contacted the Kauai Police Department for assistance. Since then, a search for Samuel has commenced on the island.
