A plume of Saharan dust will reach southern and western parts of Europe, including the UK, this week. This will lead to hazy skies, colourful sunrises and sunsets, as well as some poor air quality and dust washed out in the rain.
Storm Regina has been hitting parts of Iberia and northwest Africa with heavy downpours and strong winds. The strong winds have lifted Saharan dust up into the sky, which will then be carried northwards in the coming days.
