Saint Patrick's Day in Sacramento, CA is very popular! The whole St. Patty's Day weekend is full of festivities including lots of food, drinks, Irish music, costumes, and more! The California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento ran a special Leprechaun Train to celebrate the weekend's festivities. The power for the train was a recently rebuilt SW1 locomotive in classic Sacramento Northern paint. The train made three departure trips from Old Sacramento and traveled through Miller Park and paralleled the Sacramento River before turning back to Old Sac. The locomotive ran around the train at Miller Park so that they could easily shove down passed the river and make a quick turnaround back to Sac. I went to numerous to locations to see this train and I was not disappointed with how the day turned out! I even rented a Bird electric scooter so that I could get a pacing shot next to the locomotive. It was quite the fun day! Enjoy the video!
