Ruth's Journey: Living with Ullrich Congenital Muscular Dystrophy

Meet Ruth Fundak, a joyful 7-year-old who enjoys creating art, spending time with her friends and playing on her tablet. Her mom, Caitlin Laatz, shares more about Ruth’s journey and the care that supports her along the way.

Ruth was diagnosed with Ullrich congenital muscular dystrophy at 3½ years old and receives long-term care at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital has Oregon’s only pediatric neuromuscular program. We are a designated MDA Care Center with experts who care for children with conditions affecting nerves and muscles. At the Ramberg Ford Pediatric Neuromuscular Disorders Center, you will find:
