Run with me in the On Cloudultra 3. It’s been a while since ive been on my local trails. I took these shoes for two hours, out of the box, for about 10 miles and 1200’ of rolling gain. We’d gotten a bit of rain recently, so the ground was just a touch softer than usual. Combined with the Mission Grip lugs and the dual density Helion HF foam, my feet were quite happy. There’s also a speed board, but it’s in an X shape, which seems to make it far less annoying than On’s Soeedboards tend to be.
The fit of this upper felt rugged and tailored. it’s a fit I expect from On in the trails. And there’s plenty of taped seams and toe cap to keep water from getting in. But there’s also open mesh to let heat out.
The shoe is designed for ultra distance running, but it is not technically a race shoe (that would be the Cloudultra Pro). But I would enjoy these for a long day adventure, stomping through the woods.
