In December 2025, RTD hosted a groundbreaking conference on drug use in public transit. More than a dozen transit agencies from across the United States and Canada – as well as first responders and health care professionals from across Colorado – attended the event, which was the first of its kind. The forum was centered on “The Impacts of and Response to Drug Use on Transit,” the Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) report published in August 2025, reflecting findings from five U.S. transit agencies, including RTD.
