🚧 Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project | July 2026 Construction Update 🚧
Construction continued throughout July in both the Colfax Avenue Alignment and Downtown Loop work areas as crews made significant progress on rail reconstruction and underground infrastructure improvements across downtown Denver.
This month, crews focused on building critical drainage systems that will support the new rail corridor. Proper drainage helps prevent water from collecting around the tracks, protecting rail stability and ensuring long-term reliability.
The project is also introducing a modern embedded track system, where rail is installed directly into reinforced concrete rather than using traditional ballast and ties. This innovative approach offers a longer service life, reduced maintenance needs, and more efficient construction.
